CO2 recoil kits


The tethered recoil conversion kit is a drop-in CO2-based recoil system for semi-automatic pistols and sub-machine guns.

A disposable 12-gram CO2 capsule or refillable 9oz gas cylinder holds the gas that generates the recoil effect. The capsule or cylinder is worn by the trainee in a belt-pack.

The conversion kit includes a replacement barrel—or bolt for the H&K MP5—spring and dummy magazine. A short airline connects the belt-pack to the magazine.

The recoil conversion kits are non-permanent; after training the weapon can be returned to normal service by removing the recoil kit and re-inserting the original barrel, spring and magazine.

Tethered recoil kits are available for:

  • Beretta models 92, 94 and M9
  • Sig Sauer P226, P228 and P229
  • Glock models 17, 19, 22 and 23
  • H&K USP, .40 cal
  • H&K MP5.


Tetherless recoil kits are available for semi-automatic pistols and some rifles. They do not require the use of a belt-pack.

The tetherless recoil kits use either one or two disposable 12-gram CO2 capsules to generate recoil. The laser insert and battery screws into the end of the barrel.

A typical pistol recoil kit comes with a replacement barrel, return spring and a dummy magazine. The barrel is blocked at one end so that no live ammunition can be loaded.

For the M16/M-4/AR-15 rifles, the recoil kit consists of a replacement bolt carrier, adapter plate and dummy magazine. The dummy magazine accepts one or two disposable CO2 capsules.

Tetherless recoil kits are available for:

  • Beretta models 92, 94 and M9
  • CZ-75
  • Sig Sauer P226 and P229
  • Glock models 17, 19, 22, 23 and 31
  • H&K USP Compact, 9mm
  • H&K P2000, .40 cal
  • M16/M-4/AR-15 rifle.

CO2 refilling

Refillable magazines are available for most of the tetherless recoil kits. These magazines do not require a disposable CO2 capsule.

A refill-adapter connects on to a larger CO2 liquid gas cylinder, and the refillable magazine is topped up by pressing the magazine on to the refill-adapter's nozzle. A gauge on the refill-adapter shows the pressure of the CO2 gas inside the main CO2 cylinder.
